COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John’s battled to a 1-1 tie with St. Thomas on Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Collegeville.
Senior Levi Glines (Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids) put the Johnnies on the board 1-0 with a goal at the 68:35 mark of the second half. Freshman A.J. Sollom (Roberts, Wis./River Falls) assisted on the scoring play for SJU.
St. Thomas tied the game at 1-1 with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation (80:10) on a goal by freshman Kyle Mader (Brooklyn Park Minn./Osseo) from senior Max Weber (Stillwater Minn.).
Senior goalkeeper Matt Sundberg (Wayzata, Minn.) made 10 saves for SJU, while senior Dan Hutton made 11 saves for the Tommies (3-2-1, 0-0-1 MIAC).
The Johnnies (2-0-2, 0-0-1 MIAC) will travel to face Carleton this Saturday, Sept. 15. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Bell Field in Northfield.
