FARGO, N.D. – Saint John's tallied three, top-three finishes at the Division I North Dakota State Classic on Saturday, April 22, in Fargo, N.D.
Senior
Raymond Twumasi (Coon Rapids, Minn.) won the triple jump with a personal-record leap of 14.33 meters, while junior
Colton Peterson (Cloquet, Minn./South Ridge) followed in third with a personal-record of his own (14.04 meters). Freshman
Collin Trout (Cloquet, Minn.) claimed 10th (13.55 meters).
Junior
Mitch Peck (Alexandria, Minn.) took second, 0.01 from North Dakota State's Aron Klos, with a personal-record time of 54.68 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Senior
Travis Spillum (Little Falls, Minn.) was the lone Division III participant in the high jump, where he finished ninth (1.88 meters).
Senior
Peyton Thiry (Lester Prairie, Minn./Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity) finished 10th Friday in the hammer throw, behind Division I competition, with a personal-record of 51.63 meters.
Freshman
Storm Sims (Pompano Beach, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) improved his season mark in the discus with a throw of 42.39 meters to place 10th.
Friday in La Crosse
Senior
Ryan Bugler (Okinawa, Japan/Kubasaki) and six other Johnnies competed at Wisconsin-La Crosse's Esten Challenge on Friday, April 21. The reigning Division III champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Bugler won the event, his first steeplechase race this spring, in 9:16.94.
The Johnnies compete at the Macalester Twilight at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in St. Paul.
