Johnnies Move to 6-1 With 34-12 Win at Ridgewater

WILLMAR, Minn. – Saint John's wrestling took advantage of four forfeits and posted two bonus-point victories in a 34-12 win at Ridgewater on Thursday, Jan. 19, in Willmar.

SJU (6-1 dual record) jumped out to an 18-0 lead thanks to two forfeits and a pin from freshman Graham Evavold (Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest) at 141 pounds.

The Vikings cut it to 18-8 with two straight wins at 149 and 157 pounds, and made it 24-12 with a major decision at 174. 

Freshman Quincy Spiering (Mounds View, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) ended the dual with a 17-4 major decision, his first collegiate win.

The Johnnies travel to face No. 2 Augsburg for a 1 p.m. dual on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Si Melby Hall in Minneapolis.
