COLFAX, Wis. – Saint John's cross country finished sixth out of 15 teams at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational on Friday, Sept. 30, at Whitetail G.C. in Colfax, Wis.
The host Blugolds, who are ranked fourth nationally, won the 8,000-meter race with a total of 29 points. No. 8 Wisconsin-La Crosse claimed second (61 points), followed by No. 9 St. Olaf (96), Division II Michigan Tech (119), Lakehead of Ontario (155) and SJU (173).
Senior
Ryan Bugler (Okinawa, Japan/Kubasaki) finished fourth, third among collegiate runners, out of the 282 runners with a time of 25:15. Senior
Maxwell Kuzara (Deephaven, Minn./Minnetonka) followed in 40th (26:37) and classmate
Brandon Franta (La Crescent, Minn.) crossed the finish line in 49th (26:48).
Sophomore
Trey Collins (Plentywood, Mont./Royalton) finished 58th (26:58) and senior
Lukas Buehler (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 74th (27:17).
The Johnnies return to the Badger State for the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Ettrick G.C. in Ettrick, Wis.
