COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University and KOOL-TV, based out of Alexandria, Minn., extended its contract for two more years, athletic director Tom Stock announced on Wednesday, June 22.

Like the 2015 season, KOOL-TV will produce tape-delayed broadcasts of all Saint John's home football games in 2016 and 2017.

In addition, KOOL-TV will again produce and air the 30-minute "Gary Fasching Show" each Tuesday night with the Johnnies' head football coach during the football season. The time of Fasching's show has been bumped a half hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The tape-delayed home broadcasts will air after the coaches' show.

"We are excited to continue our relationship with KOOL-TV," Fasching said. "Working with Mark Anthony on the coaches' show and the tape-delayed broadcast of our games proved to be very beneficial for our program and our great fans. We look forward to the partnership and another great year of Saint John's Football."

Viewers outside of the KOOL-TV broadcast area will again be able to watch the coaches' show and home-game broadcast as they are airing Tuesday nights on www.kooltv-mn.com. Neither broadcast will be archived online for future viewing.

If you are not receiving KOOL-TV in your current television package, interested viewers are encouraged to visit www.getkooltv.com and sign the petition.

SJU football games will continue to be webcast live on gojohnnies.com and the "Football Weekly" radio show with Mark Lewandowski, broadcast by The Bear WBHR-660 AM, will also continue in 2016. The show airs from 7-8 p.m. each Wednesday during the football season and includes Fasching, an SJU assistant coach, an SJU football student-athlete and a local high school head coach.

SJU enters the 2016 season ranked as high as ninth nationally in the preseason Division III polls (The Sporting News) coming off a 10-2 (7-1 MIAC) season in which it advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs for the second consecutive year. The Johnnies are expected to return 13 of their 24 starters (five on offense, six on defense and both special-teams specialists) this fall.
