Johnnies Ranked No. 9 in D3football.com Preseason Poll

D3football.com Poll

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John's University was ranked ninth in the D3football.com Top 25 poll released Monday, July 13.

The Johnnies moved up three spots from the final D3football.com poll of the 2014 season. SJU was ranked fourth by Lindy's and seventh by The Sporting News earlier this summer.

Eight teams in the West region, including SJU, were ranked in D3football.com's top 25: Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 1), Linfield (No. 3), Wartburg (No. 6), St. Thomas (No. 14), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (No. 18), Bethel (No. 20) and Chapman (No. 24).

SJU reports to Collegeville on Saturday, Aug. 15, with the first practice scheduled for the following day. The Johnnies open the 2015 season with a 1 p.m. kickoff Sept. 5 against Dubuque (Iowa) in Clemens Stadium, one of six home games this fall.
