The SJU Track & Field team hosts Concordia-Moorhead and Michigan Tech for an 11 a.m. triangular on Saturday, April 11, in Clemens Stadium, while the SJU Decathlon will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's opened its outdoor season with a win out of four teams in the annual SJU Spring Invitational on March 28. The Johnnies won the meet with a total of 194 points, followed by Hamline (191), Concordia-Moorhead (156.5) and Martin Luther (72). SJU recorded 20 top-three finishes, including nine wins. Six of the nine first-place marks were recorded by underclassmen (freshmen or sophomores).

Joe Koll (Winona, Minn./Cotter) won both the long jump (6.60 meters) and triple jump (13.27 meters), while freshman
Mitchell Peck (Alexandria, Minn.) took first in the 110- (16.95) and 400-meter hurdles (57.37). Senior
Jake Lammi (Marine on St. Croix, Minn./Stillwater Area) won the 400 meters (49.85) and junior
Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) earned the top time in the 1,500 meters (3:57.59). Sophomores
Brandon Franta (La Crescent, Minn.) and
Peyton Thiry (Lester Prairie, Minn./Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity) placed first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:24.74) and hammer throw (45.94 meters), respectively. Thiry also claimed third in the shot put (13.25 meters). The Johnnies' 4x400-meter relay team crossed the finish line first in 3:26.64.
