Day 1 ResultsMOORHEAD, Minn. – Saint John's tallied six top-eight finishes and enters Saturday's second and final day of the 2015 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in a tie for sixth place out of 11 teams.
St. Thomas leads the men's field with 80 points, followed by St. Olaf (76), Carleton (49), Concordia-Moorhead (41), Hamline (40) and the tie between SJU and Augsburg at 31 points.
Junior
Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) earned his eighth All-MIAC (top three individually, champion relay) honor with a second-place finish in the 800 meters (1:55.29). The All-MIAC performance is Feichtinger's third in indoor track (four in outdoor track, one in cross country).
Junior
Jake Lammi (Marine on St. Croix, Minn./Stillwater Area) took fifth in the 400 meters (50.72)
Sophomore
Joe Koll (Winona, Minn./Cotter) and junior
Anthony Smith (Newark, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) went sixth (8.771) and seventh (8.784), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles. Koll also claimed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.71 meters.
Sophomore
Peyton Thiry (Lester Prairie, Minn./Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity) finished sixth in the 35-pound weight throw (14.83 meters).
SJU's distance medley relay (

Ryan Bugler) crossed the finish line in third (10:39.35).
Saturday's competition is scheduled to begin with the long jump at 10:15 a.m. on the campus of Concordia-Moorhead.
