NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Fourteen Johnnies competed in nine events at the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 19, in Northfield.

SJU recorded seven top-right finishes on the day and registered the fewest amount of team points, due to the low number of participants, with 15.5.

Junior Nick Thies (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) claimed third in the pole vault (4.27 meters) and classmate Jordan Tradewell (Cedar, Minn./St. Francis) took third, first among Division III participants, in the 400 meters (51.00).

Senior Brian Vargason (Owatonna, Minn.) placed sixth in the hammer throw (48.02 meters), while senior Michael Richter (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and sophomore Luke Wittman (Woodbury, Minn.) finished seventh in the 400 meters (52.29) and steeplechase (10:29.04), respectively.

The Johnnies travel to St. Paul on Monday, April 21, for the rescheduled St. Thomas Twilight. The meet is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.
