NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saint John's recorded six top-five finishes, including two wins, at the St. Olaf Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 28, in Northfield. Team scores were not calculated at the meet, which served as the final tune-up before next weekend's MIAC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, at the Donald McNeely Spectrum in Collegeville.
Sophomore Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) won the 800 meters with the MIAC's fourth-fastest time so far in 2014 (1:57.07) and junior Chase Myhran (Orono, Minn.) won the long jump with a leap of 6.39 meters.
Junior Yasin Williams (East Orange, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) shaved off 0.07 seconds from his previous season-best time to finish second in the 200 meters (22.68).
Freshman Raymond Twumasi (Coon Rapids, Minn.) finished second in the triple jump (12.92 meters), while freshman Tony Yost (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and senior John Subialka (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) took third and fourth in the shot put (14.00 meters) and mile run (4:28.36), respectively.
