Johnnies Claim Three More All-MIAC Honors, Finish Fifth at Indoor Championships

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saint John's finished fifth out of 11 teams, 1.5 points from fourth, at the 2013 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, March 2, in Northfield.

St. Thomas won the title with a total of 204 points, followed by the host Oles (114), Bethel (88), Hamline (74.5) and SJU (73).

A trio of Johnnies earned All-MIAC (top three) honors on the day. Senior Kevin Horton (Eagan, Minn.) tallied his second All-MIAC performance in as many days with a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.75), 0.05 from the conference title.

Senior Brady O'Brien (Minneapolis, Minn./Holy Angels) earned his first All-MIAC honor with a second-place finish in the triple jump (13.65 meters). Seniors Tyler Martin (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake) and Andrew Million (Lino Lakes, Minn./Totino-Grace) followed in fourth (12.97 meters) and fifth (12.97 meters), respectively.

Junior Willie Versen (Hopkins, Minn.) registered his first All-MIAC distinction with a third-place finish in the 3,000 meters (8:40.90). Senior Ruairi Moynihan (Fargo, N.D./South) followed close behind in fourth (8:41.81).

The Johnnies 4x400-meter relay (Horton, Million, Jake Lammi, Jordan Tradewell) finished fourth with a time of 3:25.54.
