Krogen Named MIAC Golfer of the Week

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John’s University sophomore Tony Krogen (Marshall, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week on Monday, April 26.

Krogen claimed medalist honors at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational on Sunday, April 25, with a 211 (-3). The Johnnies won the meet by setting a new school record for a three-round (or larger) tournament with a two-under par 854. 

Krogen, who became the became the eighth Johnnie in school history to earn medalist honors at the MIAC Championship last fall, currently leads the MIAC with a 73.2 stroke average in 18 rounds of play this season. 

SJU hosts St. Thomas for the annual Johnnie-Tommie Cup this Wednesday, April 28, at the Pebble Creek G.C. in Becker. The Johnnies will then make their 11th consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship May 11-14 in Hershey, Pa.
