Johnnie Tennis Wins Second Straight, 7-2

BAYAMON, Puerto Rico – Saint John’s won its second consecutive match in Puerto Rico with a 7-2 decision over UPR-Bayamon on Wednesday, March 3.

Sophomore Ian Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd), junior Elliott Elm (Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels) and senior Tyler McKay (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) earned wins at Nos. 1-3 singles, while senior Brian Holmgren (Litchfield, Minn.) tallied a victory at No. 6 singles.

Odegaard and senior Ian Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd), McKay and sophomore John Burns (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo), and the freshmen tandem of Taylor Curtis (Bloomington, Minn./Holy Family Catholic) and Zach Shriwise (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley West) recorded wins at Nos. 1-3 doubles.

The Johnnies (3-4, 0-2 MIAC) end their spring break trip Thursday, March 4, against Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras.
