ST. PAUL, Minn. – Saint John’s defeated Macalester 853-461 in a two-day dual held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30, in St. Paul.

The Johnnies won 17 of the 18 events they had an entrant participating, including the 200- (1:48.97) and 400-yard medley relays (4:04.95), as well as the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:34.26).

Sophomore Josh Seaburg (Moorhead, Minn.) won three events, including the 200-yard butterfly (2:00.72), 400-yard individual medley (4:21.10) and 1,650-yard freestyle (18:22.72).

Fellow sophomore Ty Nimens (Crookston, Minn.) won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.01) and 200-yard individual medley (1:58.69), while junior Andy Happe (Urbandale, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) won the 100- (56.13) and 200-yard backstroke (2:05.93). Junior Michael Williams (Maple Grove, Minn.) posted wins in the 50- (22.35) and 100-yard freestyle (49.80).

Sophomore Wes Schlichting (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) won both diving events posting a 454.55 in the 1-meter and a 439.90 in the 3-meter.

The Johnnies return to action in three weeks at the 2010 MIAC Championships on Feb. 18-20 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
