Three Second-Half Goals Spark Johnnies to Victory

BISMARCK, N.D. – Saint John’s scored three second-half goals to defeat the University of Mary 3-1 on Sunday, Sept. 27, in Bismarck, N.D.

The Marauders took a 1-0 lead at the 38:34 mark of the first half on a goal from Cory Hittle.

Senior Eric Bell (Little Falls, Minn.) scored his second goal in as many days to tie the match at 1-1 just 4:38 into the second half. Sophomore Charles Hamm (Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray) assisted on the play via the corner kick.

Junior Andrew Lilly (Maple Grove, Minn.) gave SJU (4-3, 1-2 MIAC) a 2-1 lead with his second goal of the season at the 61:54 mark.

Junior Colin Hall (Maple Grove, Minn.) added an insurance goal, his fifth of the season, at the 76:11 mark.

Junior Matt Anderson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made three saves to record the victory in his first start of the season.

The Johnnies travel to face Central (Iowa) this Wednesday, Sept. 30. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Pella, Iowa.
