COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John's University freshman Dennis Granath (Bandhagen, Sweden/Farsta Gymnasium) was named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 15. 

Granath earned medalist honors by four strokes with a six-under par 66 in Monday’s final round of the Bemidji State Invitational. Granath, who was a member of the Saint John’s second team during the weekend, finished with a 135 (-9). Granath’s 66 tied for the second-best individual round all-time in school history. Granath was playing in his first ever collegiate golf tournament. Saint John’s tied for second and fifth out of 15 teams at the invitational.

The Johnnies host the annual Saint John’s Fall Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19-20. The first round is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre. A 9 a.m. shotgun start Sunday at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell will conclude the meet.
