COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Saint John's University hockey team will have a new look for the 2009-10 season as the Johnnies unveiled their new uniforms Monday, July 13.

The retro red and white jerseys feature the SJU athletic logo on both shoulders and a jersey number on the right breast. The home jerseys are white with a broad red stripe across the front with a white block “J,” while the away jerseys are red with a broad white stripe across the front with a red “Johnnies” script.

“We are excited to unveil the new look of Johnnie hockey,” head coach Doug Schueller said. “There has been an exciting buzz from the current players to hit the ice with the new look and energized attitude in 2009-10.”

The Johnnies open the 2009-10 season Oct. 31 against Saint Mary's at the Bloomington Ice Gardens. SJU's home opener is set for Nov. 14 against Bethel at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Due to scheduling conflicts with St. Cloud State, the Johnnies will play three games at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud, including Nov. 21 against St. Thomas.
