SJU Soccer Earns Academic Team Honor

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The 2009 Saint John’s University soccer team earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award Thursday, Dec. 3.

A total of 471 soccer teams (141 men's teams, 330 women's teams) in all NCAA and NAIA divisions posted team GPAs of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale to earn NSCAA Team Academic Award honors. 

The Johnnies ended the 2009 season with a 5-11-2 overall record and a 1-8-1 record in the MIAC. One of the nation's winningest soccer coaches and the winningest in Minnesota college soccer history, SJU head coach Pat Haws ended his 32nd season with a 341-140-50 (.7689) career record and a 218-77-31 (.716) record in the MIAC.
