COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John's University sophomore Ty Nimens (Crookston, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Monday, Dec. 14.

Nimens (nimmins) recorded a win in the 200 freestyle and three second-place finishes in the the Johnnies' dual meet with St. Thomas last Saturday, Dec. 12. Nimens won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:46.07. He also placed second in the 100 freestyle (48.67), the 100 butterfly (54.09) and helped the SJU 200 medley relay team to a second-place showing with his 23.73 butterfly split.

The Johnnies return to action Saturday, Jan. 9, by hosting the CSB/SJU Winter Invitational. The meet is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Warner Palaestra Pool in Collegeville.
