COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's finished second out of seven teams at the annual SJU Fall Finale on Friday, Nov. 6.
South Dakota State won the race with a total of 25 points, followed by SJU (43), North Central (103), Bethel (109) and Martin Luther (121).
Junior
Tom Hoffman (Mahtomedi, Minn.) led the Johnnies with a 12th-place finish overall (fifth collegiately) with a time of 26:53. Seniors
Matt Harren (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) and
Josh Gunderson (Austin, Minn./Pacelli) finished 14th (sixth; 27:08) and 16th (eighth; 27:29), respectively. Sophomore
Jordan Fladland (Coon Rapids, Minn.) took 19th (11th; 27:52), while senior
Joe Kilkus (Winona, Minn./Cotter) claimed 23rd (13th; 28:04). Sophomore
Steven Lubner (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and senior
Tyler Etheridge (Eau Claire, Wis./North) rounded out the Johnnies' seven with 27th- (17th; 28:10) and 30th-places (19th; 28:21), respectively.
The Johnnies return to action next Saturday, Nov. 14, at the NCAA Central Regional. The race is scheduled for noon at Oakland Acres Golf Club in Grinnell, Iowa.
