SJU to Honor Military Personnel at Home Opener Nov. 15

In honor of Veterans Day, Saint John’s University will honor all military personnel, current and retired, and their families at the Johnnies’ basketball season opener on Sunday, Nov. 15, against No. 10 University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Sexton Arena in Collegeville. All current and retired military personnel and their families will receive free admission to the game with proper identification.
Seating will also be available in the J-Club room and the Williams room, which overlook the basketball court from above. Wheelchair provisions will be available. The College of Saint Benedict and SJU ROTC will provide a color guard and a halftime presentation will be made by a veteran of the Iraq War.
SJU head coach Jim Smith begins his 46th season in Collegeville one win shy of 700 with a 699-487 career record.
