ADRIAN, Mich. – No. 5 Adrian (Mich.) outscored Saint John’s 5-1 in the first period enroute to a 6-2 victory on Friday, Nov. 27.

Adrian (7-0-0, 4-0-0 MCHA) took an early 1-0 lead just 2:08 into the game.

Senior Jake Koehler (Ramsey, Minn.) tied the game at 1-1 three minutes later, with assists going to junior Brent Brodersen (Shakopee, Minn.) and senior Dylan Decker (Park City, Utah).

The Bulldogs added four more goals in the period, two on the power play, to make it 5-1.

Senior Gabriel Harren (Warroad, Minn.) made it 5-2 with a power-play goal 11:22 into the second period. Junior Pat McClure (Maple Plain, Minn.) and freshman Michael Palmiscno (East Grand Forks, Minn.) recorded assists on the play.

Adrian padded its lead with another power-play goal 5:15 into the third frame to end the scoring.

Sophomore Tony Civello (Shoreview, Minn.) made 26 saves in the loss.

SJU (3-5-1, 1-3-0 MIAC) outshot the Bulldogs 33-31 in the game, but converted just one of its power-play opportunities and allowed three power-play goals on four chances.

The Johnnies take on Buffalo State (N.Y.) on Saturday, Nov. 28. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Adrian, Mich.
