COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John's University sophomore Tony Krogen (Marshall, Minn.) earned MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week honors Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Krogen earned medalist honors at the 2009 MIAC Men's Golf Championship after shooting a 54-hole total of three-under par 213. Krogen's round is the best 54-hole total in MIAC Championship history, edging Saint John's Joe Schoolmeesters' 2006 total of 214. SJU claimed its fifth team title in six seasons, finishing with at three-day score of 880 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. The championship clinches the Johnnies' 11th consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship May 11-14 in Hershey, Pa.
The Johnnies return to action at the Twin Cities Classic, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus, this Saturday-Monday, Oct. 10-12.
