A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's tied for 15th out of 29 teams at the Wis.-La Crosse Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17.  The University of Wisconsin won the meet with 32 points, followed by Wis.-La Crosse (49) and South Dakota State (92).  Junior Dustin Franta (La Crescent, Minn.) led the Johnnies with a time of 26:01, which was good for 41st overall. Senior Patrick Lowder (Chanhassen, Minn./Chaska) sophomore Ruairi Moynihan (Fargo, N.D./South) followed in 82nd (26:32) and 86th (26:35), respectively.                    
                                                                                                                                                            
LAST YEAR'S MIAC CHAMPIONSHIP:  Saint John's finished fifth out of 11 teams at the 2008 MIAC Men's Cross Country Championship on Nov. 1 in St. Paul. Franta and senior Andrew Stevens (Stillwater, Minn.) came in 21st- (26:29) and 23rd-place (26:30), respectively.  Senior Ryan Noack (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) and Lowder finished 24th (26:31) and 30th (26:45), respectively. St. Olaf won the 2008 conference title behind sophomore Duboul Ruon's first-place finish in 25:01. SJU did not have an individual runner place in the top 15 for the first time since 1966. - Results
