Johnnie Soccer Posts 1-0-1 Record in New York

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Saint John’s went 1-0-1 during its Long Weekend trip to New York over the weekend. The Johnnies (5-6-1, 1-4-0 MIAC) tied the City College of New York 1-1 on Friday, Oct. 9, and defeated Baruch (N.Y.) 4-2 on Sunday, Oct. 11. Statistics are currently unavailable.

Sophomore Colin Frederick (Arima, Trinidad & Tobago/Queen's Royal College) scored his first career goal five minutes in the 1-1 tie. Senior Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) earned the decision in net.

SJU received goals from freshman Brennen Neuburger (Millstone, N.J./Allentown), senior Paul Keane (Rochester, Minn./Mayo), junior A.J. Sollom (Roberts, Wis./River Falls) and junior Colin Hall (Maple Grove, Minn.) in the 4-2 win Sunday. Junior Matt Anderson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) played the second half in net and earned the win.

The Johnnies return to conference play with the first of four consecutive home matches this Friday, Oct. 16, against Bethel. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. at George Durenberger Field in Collegeville.
