ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Senior midfielder Brian Horst's (Stillwater, Minn.) game-winning goal with 1:29 remaining in the first extra frame gave SJU a 4-3 overtime win over Bethel on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The victory now extends the Johnnies' winning streak to three games.

Sophomore defender Colin Hall (Maple Grove, Minn.) gave SJU a 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the match with his second goal in as many games off a pass from fellow sophomore defender Austin Neuburger (Freehold, N.J./Allentown). The same Hall-from-Neuburger connection led the Johnnies to a 1-0 win over Central, Iowa last Sunday, Sept. 28.

Senior midfielder Levi Lowell (Stillwater, Minn.) extended the lead to 2-0 at the 35:06 mark of the first half with his first goal of the game and third of the season. Sophomore forward A.J. Sollom (Roberts, Wis./River Falls) assisted on the scoring play for SJU.

Bethel answered, however, 2:39 later on a goal from Kirk Darling, and tied the match at 2-2 just 35 seconds after the first tally on a goal from Christopher Dirks.

SJU regained the lead on Lowell's second goal of the match, five minutes into the second half, with an assist going to senior forward Cam Christensen (Bismarck, N.D./St. Mary's). Lowell later assisted on Horst's game winner.

The Royals' Randon Sommars tied the match at the 69:31 mark, 3-3.

Junior goalkeeper Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) made four saves to improve his record to 7-3 on the year.

SJU (7-4, 2-3 MIAC) hosts Macalester at 1 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 4 at Durenberger Field in Collegeville.
