COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The No. 5 Saint John’s University cross country team finished tied for first place at the annual SJU Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8. SJU tied with MSU-Mankato with a total of 28 points, followed by St. Thomas (88), St. Olaf (161) and Winona State (169).
Senior Chris Erichsen (Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland) took first place overall with a time of 25:25, followed by teammate Kelly Fermoyle (Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) who took third with a time of 25:45. Freshman Dustin Franta (La Crescent, Minn.) finished seventh overall (26:20), senior Cam Green (Edina, Minn.) finished eighth (26:23), sophomore Darren Larsen (Alexandria, Minn.) finished ninth (26:27) and sophomore Ryan Noack (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) finished 10th (26:34).
Saint John's will return to action on Friday, Sept. 21 when it travels to compete at the Wis.-Eau Claire Invitational held in Colfax, Wis. The race is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
