Brink Leads SJU to 72-61 Win in MIAC Opener

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Senior wing Brady Brink (Waconia, Minn.) totaled career-highs of 31 points and 16 rebounds on a 13 of 16 night from the floor to lead Saint John’s to a 71-62 win over Concordia College-Moorhead Wednesday, Nov. 28 in Collegeville. 

Senior wing Ryan Lieser (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) and freshman wing Chris Schwartz (Sioux Falls, S.D./Lincoln) tallied 21 and 10 points, respectively for SJU.  Freshman Aaron Burtzel (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) added 13 rebounds.

Senior Luke Linz led the Cobbers (1-4, 0-1 MIAC) with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while freshman Erik Lien added 12 points.

SJU shot 43.9% percent from the floor compared to 37.7% for the Cobbers. Concordia outscored the Johnnies off the bench 33-0 in the game.

The Johnnies (2-0, 1-0 MIAC) will travel to face Saint Mary’s this Saturday, Dec. 1.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at SMU Gym in Winona.
