COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John’s won its third consecutive game with a 74-58 win over Hamline Saturday, Jan. 19 at Sexton Arena.
Senior Brady Brink (Waconia, Minn.) led the Johnnies offensively with 25 points on 11 of 17 shooting, while adding nine rebounds and six steals. Freshman Chris Schwartz (Sioux Falls, S.D./Lincoln) added 22 points and five rebounds, while freshman Aaron Burtzel (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) collected nine points and 12 rebounds. Senior Ryan Lieser (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) recorded 15 points and seven assists.
Freshman Carl Hipp led the Pipers with 16 points. Hamline drops to 6-8 overall (4-5 MIAC) with the loss.
The Johnnies (9-5, 6-3 MIAC) hope to keep their winning streak alive on Monday, Jan. 21 as they travel to the University of Saint Thomas to take on the Tommies who are 11-3 (7-2 MIAC). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Schoenecker Arena in St. Paul.
